1993 interview re: Paul Rand and Steve Jobs

Paul Rand (born Peretz Rosenbaum, (August 15, 1914 — November 26, 1996) was an American graphic designer, best known for his corporate logo designs, including the logos for IBM, UPS, Enron, Westinghouse, ABC, and Steve Jobs’ NeXT. In the interview, Steve Jobs recalled a conversation with the famous graphic designer: “I [Paul Rand] would solve your problems for you, and you’ll pay me. And, you don’t have to use the solution. And if you want options, go talk to other people. But I’ll solve your problem for you the best way I know how. And you use it or not, that’s up to you. You are the client. But, you pay me.”
